Here in LC4 we value and believe in creating a learning environment that empowers our students to contribute confidently and responsibly in our ever-changing world.  It is important to us that our students know who they are, understand how they learn and realise their potential. We prioritise building relationships with our students in order to know them holistically, both as a learner and as a person.  This enables us to ensure our students are supported and growing in all aspects of their lives (Hauora Te Whare Tapa Wha).  

 

We encourage them to have aspirations and high expectations of themselves; these are driven through our learner profile (disposition curriculum).  We support our learners through processes and strategies that include growth mindset, organisers and the LC4 learning process. We stretch our learners and foster leadership through providing opportunities such as student coaching and community leadership roles, fitness and outdoor education.  

 

This is translated through our learning design and the way we approach teaching and learning in our common.  We connect the Curriculum through big ideas that are purposeful, authentic, engaging and include student voice.  Literacy and numeracy are the foundation of all our learning.
